Similarly, when you are behind in
a low game, you require lesser odds from the pot to "chase"
the best hand than in a corresponding situation in a high game.
For this reason, low poker is always a game of tremendous action.
A player with an inferior hand does not need very good odds from
the pot in order to play.
So the betting is comparatively loose, and sometimes even frivolous,
with players backing wild chances. Such behavior is not as irrational
as it may appear at first glance, since every play in a low game
is essentially a gamble.
A low hand may be ruined at any stage!Because
low poker generates so much betting activity, it is frequently
played by poker enthusiasts anxious to be where the action is.
Low poker players are not the type that enjoy the slow, cautious,
calculating style of a high or a high-low game. Therefore it is
not accepted practice in a low game to think too long before deciding
on your action in a given situation. It is never good social practice
to delay any poker game, but causing such delays is often regarded
as a major sin in a low poker game.
